Cameron Mitchell Honored with the Mike O'Neil Lifetime Achievement Award
The Michigan Institute of Laundering and Drycleaning awarded Cameron Mitchell with the Mike O'Neil Lifetime Achievement award at this year's summer convention on Mackinaw Island. The Mike O'Neil award is designated for a MILD member who exemplifies a career of service, leadership and commitment to the industry.
Cam has served the laundry and drycleaning industry starting in his teens. In 1984, Cam bought Sud-Z Drycleaners in Hillsdale, Michigan from his father. Prior to purchasing Sud-Z's, Cam worked for both his father and grandfather in the laundry industry. Cam's grandfather, Jim Mitchell, was the founder of Mitchell Laundry equipment. To this day, you can still walk into many laundromats and drycleaners around the state, and see equipment that Cam installed or repaired.
Being a leader in the industry and community was of upmost importance to Cam. He become a member of MILD back in 1984 and served several terms on the MILD board of directors. In addition to MILD, Cam was one of the founders of the Michigan chapter of The Coin Laundry Association. For almost a decade he was highly involved with Methods for Management, an association working to unite successful management practices by educating and learning from other professionals.
Cam now lives with his wife of 30 years Peggy in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is currently employed at Royce Rolls in Grand Rapids, Michigan. MILD would like to thank Cam Mitchell for his years of service to MILD and the industry and congratulate him on earning this award.
